Reading Level 20-55 Years
Yoga for daily life offers lessons for all levels. As a beginner, you “will simply ‘do’ one posture at a time.” As you continue your practice with this book, you can grow through the intermediate level, where you learn to “experience” the postures and begin “continuities” – that is, performing the postures, one after the other, creating an uninterrupted flow-and then move on to the advanced level, where the practitioner “becomes” the posture, moving into one continuous flow of movement and being. With over 100 explicit, step-by-step postures and 160 photographs.
Yoga for daily Life is a book to work with and live with. Each lesson begins with an important yogic concept:
· The importance of proper breathing – perhaps the most essential part of yoga.
· The importance of heeding our bodies – the scratchy sound we might hear as we do neck rolls is a good indicator of our stress levels.
· The importance of listening to nature – connecting to the world outside ourselves.
Each lesson begins with the basics, such as how to lie down properly to enhance relaxation, and ends with a relaxing meditation.
